Evidence-aware reading paths

Five topic hubs for careful readers

Each hub answers a defined question, states what the evidence cannot establish, and orders the strongest related articles into one useful path.

Work, health, and medical culture

Physician Mental Health and Well-Being

Physician distress is shaped by both individual circumstances and working conditions. Durable responses combine confidential healthcare and peer support with changes to workload, staffing, leadership, schedule control, psychological safety, and barriers to seeking care.

Spiritual care with clinical boundaries

Faith, Prayer, and Evidence-Based Medicine

Faith and prayer may provide meaning, comfort, ritual, or community. Those benefits are different from proving that prayer treats disease. Ethical clinical care follows the patient’s preferences, avoids coercion, and never replaces indicated treatment with a spiritual claim.

Resuscitation, dying, and reported experience

Near-Death Experiences and Consciousness

Near-death experiences and end-of-life perceptions are reported phenomena that can be studied through interviews, clinical records, prospective protocols, and neuroscience. Current evidence describes recurring experiences and physiological observations but does not prove consciousness continues after irreversible death.

Surprising outcomes without premature conclusions

Unexpected Recovery and Medical Uncertainty

An unexpected recovery is an outcome whose mechanism is not established after the diagnosis, treatment history, measurements, and timing are reviewed. It may generate valuable research questions, but it does not by itself prove a miracle, validate a therapy, or predict another patient’s outcome.

Human experience, evidence, and privacy

Narrative Medicine and Responsible Storytelling

Medical stories can reveal lived experience, system consequences, and questions that structured data may miss. They cannot estimate prevalence or treatment effects alone. Responsible storytelling protects privacy, identifies provenance, distinguishes memory from records, and separates observation, interpretation, and evidence.

Review status is separate from topic coverage

A well-organized hub is not proof of medical review. Every article displays its current review status, and the site will not use “medically reviewed” until a qualified reviewer’s credentials, scope, date, conflicts, and sign-off are recorded.
