About DoctorsAndMiracles.com

Doctors work in life-and-death situations every day. But what happens when they encounter something even they can't explain scientifically? That question is the foundation of everything we do here.
Our Story
DoctorsAndMiracles.com grew out of a single book and a simple observation: physicians carry stories they almost never share. Not stories of medical breakthroughs or surgical triumphs, but stories of the unexplained β moments that challenged everything they believed about science, consciousness, and what happens when we die.
Public descriptions of Physicians' Untold Stories say that Scott J. Kolbaba, MD, interviewed more than 200 physicians and selected a smaller group of accounts for the book. DoctorsAndMiracles.com did not conduct or independently verify those interviews.
DoctorsAndMiracles.com is an independently produced companion and affiliate site about the book's themes. The author and publisher do not control this site's articles, tools, location guides, datasets, submissions, or editorial decisions. References to the book describe the subject of the site; they do not imply authorization or endorsement.
Our Mission
We publish sourced commentary about medicine, spirituality, unusual experiences, physician well-being, and narrative medicine. Our goal is to distinguish what research establishes, what a person reports, and what remains interpretation or folklore.
We believe that the tension between scientific rigor and unexplained experience is not a problem to solve but a territory worth exploring. The physicians in Dr. Kolbaba's book are not anti-science β they are deeply committed scientists who happened to witness something that science has not yet explained. Their willingness to share those experiences, despite professional risk, is an act of intellectual courage that deserves a platform.

Editorial Standards
The current web-story collection consists of clearly labeled editorial composites. These illustrative narratives are not transcripts, verified physician case reports, patient records, or chapters from the book. Blog articles link to primary or authoritative sources where available and disclose their review date and medical-review limitation.
Our interactive tools are educational self-reflection instruments, not clinical diagnostic tools. They are informed by established assessment frameworks (including the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the Greyson NDE Scale, and validated anxiety and depression screeners) but are not substitutes for professional evaluation. Every tool includes clear disclaimers and crisis resources.
What We Don't Claim
We do not claim to prove the existence of ghosts, the afterlife, or divine intervention. We do not offer medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. We do not suggest that faith should replace evidence-based medicine, nor do we dismiss the possibility that some experiences currently classified as βunexplainedβ may eventually receive scientific explanations.
We do not independently verify the book's underlying interviews or medical records. Statements about the book's reporting are attributed to the book or public descriptions rather than presented as this site's firsthand findings.
Who This Is For
Whether you're a physician carrying your own untold story, a patient seeking comfort and hope, a family member processing grief, a researcher investigating consciousness, or simply someone fascinated by the unexplained β this resource is designed to help you read carefully, find source context, and separate personal meaning from medical evidence.
